About Us
Crux Leadership Coaching was founded in 2021 by Daren Weisbrod as he was feeling called to turn his many years of working one-on-one with others, helping them develop and flourish, into a formal business. In 2024, Marnee Weisbrod (his wife) felt led to move out of a contracted clinician role with a group practice and start her own counseling business. Daren and Marnee then became co-owners of Crux Leadership Coaching, expanded it to include counseling services, and created the dba Genesis Counseling. They complement each other in the skills of running and growing a business together, with Marnee managing most of the behind-the-scenes admin work.
Soon after Genesis was formed, Daren began taking classes to get his Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Upon graduation in 2027 or 2028, Daren will move into a regular clinician role, while still taking coaching clients.
In April 2025, Genesis welcomed our first external clinician to our group. By the end of 2025, we anticipate two-three more professionals joining us. We are excited to continue intentionally building with Catholic clinicians who desire a space to fully share who they are in their faith identity.
Genesis Counseling, LLC
Accepting most major insurances as well as private pay.

Private pay rates:
$100 per 50 min session
$75 per 45 min session
$60 per 30 min session
Genesis Counseling offers licensed mental health services to individuals, couples, and families who are residents of the state of Michigan. View each clinician's profile to identify specific offerings and contact directly. We currently offer telehealth services only, with potential for satellite locations in the future. While some of our clinicians see children, ages eight or nine are generally the youngest effective age for telehealth services.
Crux Leadership Coaching, LLC
Coaching services are not covered by insurance, though they are often covered by employers.

Rates and fees vary depending on types of services and contract arrangements.

Crux Leadership Coaching offers a variety of coaching services to all, regardless of geographic location. We offer individual services for life, career, business, professional, communication, and time management coaching among others. We also offer on-site consultation services, trainings, and crisis management solutions for corporations and small businesses.

Individual coaching sessions are typically done in 60 min or 30 min increments and meet biweekly, monthly, or as needed.

The Catholic Context for Mental Health
One might rightly ask, if we don’t speak of a Catholic physics or a Catholic biology, why do we need a Catholic understanding of mental health? The answer is because any notion of mental health is laden with beliefs about the human person, about true human anthropology. After all, if mental health refers to “a person’s cognitive, behavioral, and emotional well-being,” we must know what well-being means and what well-being looks like. But notions of human flourishing depend on one’s beliefs about the human person’s origins, purpose, and destiny. And so, a Catholic view of mental health is necessary because it defines well-being according to reason and revelation.
